Ahhh it’s the season for colds, flu’s and overall not feeling too great.
It gets even the very best of us, sometimes. And why oh why does it ALWAYS seem to happen when we have a lot on our plate!?
I’ve tried many things over the years from simply being miserable for weeks on end, to successfully kicking the bug out of my system before all hell breaks loose.
So how do I do that? I have a few tricks up my sleeve. No it does not require you standing on your head while chanting (although that would help too!)
1) Make detox tea
The ingredients for this tea help boost your immune system. I brew up a batch whenever I’m feeling a little sick, drank a wee bit too much or when I’m simply feeling dehydrated.
2) Make “Korean-Style” chicken soup
There’s no real secret recipe here. I put about 4 chicken legs (with the bone is better), 3 green onions (green part chopped, white parts cut in 3-5cm length) and at least 5 cloves of garlic (smashed) in a pot, and fill it up with water. Cook on medium for at least 30 minutes. I usually leave it to cook for about 2 hours. Eat with rice and dip the chicken in salt and pepper as you eat.
3) Up my vitamin c and probiotic dosage
Most of our immune system is in our gut, and vitamin c is an important nutrient in supporting our health. I make sure my body is nourished from a cellular level to combat any bugs quickly.
4) Avoid dairy
Dairy causes mucus build up and that’s exactly what we don’t want. A clogged nose. Don’t give your nose another job while you’re trying to fight the bug.
5) Use a Netipot to clear out the gunk
Having a stuffed nose is no fun, and it’s important to clean it out once in a while. Using a Netipot is considered a yogic cleanse. It’s something I do almost every morning. Highly recommended for stuffed noses, for getting dust and pollen out of your nostrils.
6) Get SLEEP!!
We all know that sleep is where it’s at. The body rejuvenates and restores itself the most from 10pm-2am. Make sure you’re in deep sleep during this time as much as possible.
7) Prioritize your work
Don’t try to cram it all in. What’s one thing you can do today to move your business or your life forward? Focus on that, and put the rest on the back burner for now.
And there you have it!
7 steps to kicking the bug to the curb!
