If you’re anything like me, you are a creative being by nature. You were the kid who drew the most colourful rainbows and used more than one sheet of paper to complete a drawing. You like making things. Cooking things. And sharing things.
When you remember all the times you were not in a great spot energetically, it’s also when you were not actively creating, and that’s when you become drained, tired and unrestful.
Let’s be honest though, staying creative through a busy lifestyle and travel can be overwhelming. It’s essential for someone like us to ensure there is creative time in our day to keep us happy, and I’m sharing 3 ways to keep that creative feeling flowing.
1. Keep a small notebook with you
It’s much easier to carry around and jot down a thought or scribble a recipe you thought of.
2. Output more than the input
I know it’s always fun to read more, watch more and listen more. As much as the input is really great because we learn new things, we the creative type have to make sure we have creative output as well. The more that you input without the output, the more you’ll feel like ‘you’re not ready’ . . . which is one big lie you’re telling yourself.
3. Put it out in the world
Whether it’s uploading it onto the internet, or showing off your creations at an event, it’s important to show your work. Perfect doesn’t exist and the right person will always be inspired by what you put out. The wrong person will not. Don’t overthink it and show your work
