Creating a healthy home and a healthy living space has always been important. It feels extra important during this unusual time in history, as we spend more of our time at home. Honestly as a new mom, my original plan was to stay home more anyway so not much has changed. I did do a few things to make home life a little cozier and healthier, and I’ll share that with you today.
Check your food stock and make a shopping list
I purposely did not say pantry as the fridge and freezer stocks a lot of food too. If there’s anything expired or something you no longer want to put in your body, get rid of it. Once you create room for the good stuff, make a shopping list before you head to the store. Things I like to make sure I have on stock include rice, pasta, tomato pouches (I don’t buy canned tomatoes, that’s a story for another day.), frozen cut vegetables, miso, soy sauce, and curry.
Get rid of stuff on your floor
The more stuff you have on the floor, the harder it is to clean. The harder it is to clean, the easier dust bunnies can settle. Mold easily grows in the dust. Make it easy to wipe the floors every day. If you have a vacuum robot, that’s great. I would love to have one work in my living room, but my cat attacks the brushes.
Make it easy to take your supplements
In our home we have a drawer in the kitchen for all of our supplements and protein shakes. It makes it easy to grab a pouch after breakfast and dinner. By dedicating a section in a drawer, the packaging stays clean and I like that. I take these. Some people prefer to have it out on the counter where it’s easy to see. If that works better for you, that’s great too.
These are my 3 tips to creating a healthy home. I know there’s a whole lot more that can be done, but I don’t want to overwhelm you. Start simple, and once you get a hang of it go declutter a closet.
