It’s a full moon! The intentions you set on the new moon in the same sign about 6 months ago are coming around full circle. If you were not doing a new moon practice, no worries! You can still benefit immensely this time. Today I’ll share with you my full moon practice, so you can get started right away.
1. Start with a meditation
Just like the new moon practice, start with a meditation. It helps clear out the noise and helps you focus. You can do this first thing in the morning or right before your full moon practice. Whatever works for you.
2. Get out a piece of paper
Unlike the new moon practice that we did in a journal, find a piece of paper or a loose-leaf. The intention here is to let go of what no longer serves us. This is why we want to opt for something we’re okay getting rid of after our practice.
3. Write down what upsets you
Maybe it’s a thought pattern, something that happened to you, an idea, or someone that upsets you. Write it all down. Write down as much as you need to. The point here is to get it out of the system. The full moon is a time of release. Let it go, let it go, let it go.
4. Close your eyes and visualize each item on your list
Say in your heart, or out loud ‘I forgive you. Wrap them up in an imaginary bubble and let them float away.
5. Burn that list under the full moon
I usually stand over my sink, windows open, fan on, water running, and light that sucker on fire. You can do it outside, throw it in a fireplace (if you got one!), or if you write it on toilet paper, flush it down the toilet. Make sure it is goooone.
6. Recharge your crystals under the full moon
If you got crystals, now is the time to recharge them! Some crystals can be cleansed under running water, and some are unable to handle it. All crystals love a good full moon bath. Set them outside at night before going to sleep. If it’s raining and it’s a crystal that doesn’t do good with water I put them by a window ledge.
There it is! A full moon practice. I know there are more elaborate rituals that people do, but honestly, I don’t have time for that in this season of my life. This feels good to me. It doesn’t take too long to do, and it’s something I look forward to. The full moon energy is honestly a bit too much for me. It’s tiring. And this practice helps me take the edge off of that full moon energy.
