That was your chance.
She asked you if you were talented at what you love to do, which was screen printing. I heard you talk for 30 seconds. I was very sure you were good at what you do, esp after doing it in New York for many years before moving to Toronto. Your friend asked why don’t you continue? You came up with excuses. Excuses to stop textile making, painting, and drawing all together.
I wanted to butt in and say JUST FREGGIN DO IT!! Who cares if you’re not ‘talented enough’!? Half of the artists in this place seem to have gotten their fame after they have died. Who’s to decide if you’re ‘talented enough’ anyway?
Keep. Doing. What. You. Love.
Then I catch myself mentally going off at this lady. This is exactly what I need to be telling myself.
Keep. Doing. What. I. Love.
I seem to like writing. Cooking. Yoga. Health. Planning. Travel. Books. Museums. Beaches. Libraries. Puppies and kittens. Handbags and shoes. Cafes. Flowers. Creating. And then… going home.
What on earth am I gonna with myself?
Do what I love.
What on earth should you be doing with yourself?
Do what you love.
Because we’re only here for a blink of time.
